Anyone wishing to send luggage or boxes with personal items can use Sparrow. Last year, we managed orders from 85 countries and shipped over 25,000 consignments annually.

Typical customers include:

  • Vacationers: Those who want to avoid increasing airline fees and travel with whatever they wish.
  • Sports Enthusiasts: Traveling with golf clubs, skis, and other sports equipment.
  • Seniors or Disabled Individuals: Finding it convenient not to travel with luggage.
  • Expats: People living abroad who need to send or receive items.
  • Students: Sending or receiving personal belongings or care packages.
  • People Moving Internationally: Those relocating worldwide.
  • General Customers: Anyone needing to send care packages or personal items.

Please also enter the postal codes for greater accuracy. Without them, your quote will be based on shipping from capital city to capital city.

Our prices are based on both the size (volume) and the weight of your items.

If you need to send an item that weighs more than 30 kg or has a size >119 cm, you can do so, but you must email us at info@spourgitis.cy so that we can provide you with the transport cost.

Sparrow can usually collect a shipment from the next working day. However, this will depend on the collection location and the size of your shipment, so we recommend placing your order at least 2 days before your desired collection date.

Please note to check the date you select for collection, as collections will not be made on local or national holidays.

After entering your postal codes on our pricing page, our system will generate an estimated transit time* based on information provided by our partner carriers and our historical booking data. Without providing postal codes, the estimated transit time will be based on shipping from capital city to capital city.

When booking, once the collection date is selected at step 3, an estimated delivery date will also be displayed. All delivery dates are estimates, and while typically 95% of Sparrow’s standard services and 99.5% of express services arrive on the estimated delivery date, we advise you not to rely on delivery until you receive an email notification confirming that your shipment is en route for delivery.

If you are traveling on a route where your shipment needs to pass through customs, the destination page for your destination country will show the average time it might take customs to process and release your shipment.

Sparrow provides live tracking at every step, and our app will send you free notifications as your bag travels through the network.

Sparrow’s Supplemental Coverage was created to address customers’ concerns about what would happen if a suitcase gets lost during transport and remains the primary purpose of the product. If an item (sent according to our terms) is deemed untraceable after a search process, Sparrow will work with the customer to quickly proceed with the claims process.

Coverage Limitations:

The full terms of coverage are available in our terms of service, and we ask you to take a few minutes to review the terms. Within the terms, you will findrestrictionssuchas:

  • Your item must be properly prepared, and the tracking label must be attached in such a way that it does not easily detach. Do not attach your label by placing it in a plastic document sleeve and tying it to a bag or using adhesive tape without fully wrapping it around the bag. If you attach your label in these ways, there is a risk it will fall off as the bag moves through the network, and coverage will not apply.
  • Sparrow’s coverage does not cover damage to any item that we advise is prohibited or sent at your own risk, including but not limited to: glass, ceramics, electrical items (e.g., televisions, computers, laptops, printers).

 

Please ensure your bag is properly prepared and does not contain anything you have been advised is prohibited. If prohibited items are included or your label is not attached according to our guidelines, no claim can be made.

Sparrow ships luggage to over 100 countries, and all available routes can be checked through our pricing page. If the option to send to your desired route does not appear, then unfortunately, we do not currently ship between those locations.

You can make a booking with estimated weights and dimensions.

All items are weighed and measured during transit, and if your item exceeds the purchased allowance, you will be notified of the additional cost owed.

You will be charged at the same rates as if you had entered the larger weight or dimensions at the time of booking, not a higher excess charge.

How to Measure Your Bag:

  • Width: Measure from the widest points side to side.
  • Length: Measure from top to bottom.
  • Height: Measure from front to back.

 

Make sure to include any wheels or handles in your measurements. If you enter the dimensions in a different order, it’s not a problem as the final volume will be the same.

We charge based on both the volume (size) and the weight of your items. When our pricing page shows a cost based on weight, there is also a maximum size associated with that fee.

  • Maximum Weight: The heaviest single item we can accept is 70 kg. However, if your shipment exceeds 30 kg or any dimension is greater than 115 cm, you must email us with the full details.

 

How to Measure and Calculate:

  1. Volume and Dimensions:
    • Measure the width (side to side), length (top to bottom), and height (front to back) of your item, including wheels and handles.
    • Use these measurements to calculate the volume of your item.
  1. Weight:
    • Weigh your item to determine its actual weight.

 

PricingCalculation:

  • Based on Volume and Weight: The pricing will consider both the size and weight of your item. The larger of the two (dimensional weight vs. actual weight) will determine the shipping cost.
  • Dimensional Weight Calculation:
    • Dimensional weight (also known as volumetric weight) is calculated by multiplying the dimensions of the package and dividing by a volumetric divisor (which may vary by carrier).

By considering both the volume and weight, our system ensures a fair charge based on the space your item occupies and its weight.

It is not possible to add more bags or boxes to an existing order once it has been placed. You will need to place a new order for any additional items you wish to send. If you place a second order and need both orders to be collected together, please contact the Sparrow team, who will notify our partner carriers.

Despite the many advantages of Σπουργίτης, we are determined not to be outpriced. We would be surprised if you find a better price, but if you do, please give us the opportunity to beat it!

Simply email us confirming the route, what you are sending (including size and weight), the price you found online, and the competitor’s name. We will then verify the price, and if it is lower than ours, we will offer you an even better price to match it.

To match a price, we require that the other service meets certain basic conditions: it must offer the same transit times, the same allowed dimensions and weight, provide phone support, and have a sufficient reputation as a specialized shipper of luggage or personal items (for example, we would expect to see at least 100 reviews with an average rating of at least 8/10 on an independent review site). The offer must be available to the general public online for immediate booking, through a public platform like ours.
